Back to School with Carter’s

I can’t believe I’m saying this but summer is ALREADY coming to an end… (insert tears here) I don’t know about your kid(s) but mine only have about 3 weeks until school starts and it’s bittersweet. I’m going to have a kindergartener! A real elementary schooler! When I was little the most exciting part about going back to school was back to school shopping with my mom and sister, besides getting to see my friends every day, of course. This year I’m excited to take my own girls back to school shopping!

Piper and I did a little online shopping she picked everything you see here out for both her and her little sis, Kenzie. She was literally jumped up and down when she saw all the glittery shoes available. She asked for 6 separate pairs but settled on one for now since I made her a promise once the pair she decided on is too small we can get her the next pair of glitter shoes on her list.

I’m raising a mini-me she’s got fashion on the brain 24/7 and wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up (most days). Piper is very particular when it comes to her clothing, I’m 100% cool with it but do have a few requirements when it comes to shopping for kids clothes.

Shopping for kids clothes checklist:

All Items must be:

1.  Adorable – for obvious reasons. I love when my daughters look presentable and have a bit of an obsession with cute kids fashion!
2. Comfortable – the last thing any parent wants is their daughter or son complaining about his/her clothing being itchy or uncomfortable. Am I right? Please do correct me if I’m wrong!
3. Machine washable – Who wants kids clothes that need to be dry cleaned?! We’d all go broke! If you do half as much laundry as I do…
4. Durable – clothes have to last, things like strong stitching and tough material are important since kids are wild at heart, play outside more than inside and roll around in the dirt as often as possible like they should!
5. Easily matched with other items – having items that mix and match easily saves everyone time and money when it comes to dressing your kids. A game changer for sure.
6. Affordable – Most kids grow so fast! It feels like Kenzie wakes up an inch taller every day so her clothes can’t cost too much money. 🙂

Lucky for us all Carter’s meets all of these requirements! I’m very impressed with their selection of kids clothes and footwear!

Are your kids excited to get back to school? Piper sure is! She misses her friends and loves to learn. I know she’s going to do great in kindergarten AND she’ll look so cute in her first-day outfit from Carter’s Kids! Kenzie will be in her second year of preschool and will look equally adorable!
