April Recap :: Travel & Favorites

Happy May 1st!! rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! <— Does anyone else do that? I can’t remember why but my sister and I text each other rabbit rabbit rabbit every first of the month. 🙂  Anyway, it’s time for my monthly recap. April was such a busy month! Filled with a whole lot of travel and fun!

Highlights

Easter started our month off. I love Easter, starting the day hunting for where the Easter Bunny hid the girl’s baskets in the yard is always such a fun start to the day! My in-laws hosted this year at their home in Santa Cruz. It was a beautiful day and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Spring Break! This is the first year we have an elementary school student who has a regular school schedule, including Spring Break. We took advantage of the opportunity and headed off to South Lake Tahoe for a few days of fun and relaxation. I love Tahoe, it is such a beautiful. I highly recommend South Lake for a family vacation.

Weekend Away with No Kids The very next weekend Pat and I were able to get away for the weekend with some of our best friends to Healdsburg. If you like wine go here! It is the cutest town with the most beautiful wineries. I can’t wait to go back again soon.

Date night! We even got to go on date night! We might have figured out the perfect date night! San Juan Batista is the cutest town! We went to The 18th Barrel for a little wine tasting with live music, then a small family run arcade that costs $5 for 30 minutes of games and the dinner. We were still home before the girls went to bed. Seriously so much fun! I felt like a teenager for the night. Minus the wine.

5 and a half!  Piper turned 5.5!! We celebrated at school with Half Cookies and went out to her favorite restaurant for dinner. We like to do mini celebrations for the kids half birthdays because its another excuse to make them feel special and I can’t resist that! (My husband may think I’m crazy but it’s worth it!)

New Favorites

Book: Do you have girls? I was given a book to help promote and I fell in love with it. If you have girls go get Confidence Code For Girls. My main goal in life right now is to raise good humans with as much self-confidence as possible so they can succeed in whatever it is they choose to do.

Chocolate: Ok, if you know me or you follow me on Instagram you probably already know I’m addicted to chocolate. It’s my weakness! I just found out about Hu dark chocolate. It is soooo good! It’s very rich so you only need a square at a time which is a good thing when you have a chocolate addiction.

King Size We got a King size bed. Finally! Something we should have done 5 years ago but better late than never! Sleep just became more of a reality in this family.

Piper has been crying every morning when I drop her off at school. It absolutely breaks my heart. I’ve been spending more time volunteering in her class but can’t figure out why she gets so sad.

HELLO May

In May Kenzie turns THREE! (Where in the world has time gone?!) My sister is coming to visit and Mother’s Day is around the corner. We’ll see what else the month has in store for us!

Come back soon for more new posts. I hope you and yours have a great month!

What a fun month! We hide the kids Easter baskets, too! It was my husband’s family tradition growing up, and we’ve adopted it for our own kiddos.

I grew up in Reno and absolutely love Tahoe! It was right in our backyard and I’ve spent so much time there. I also love that you added chocolate to this list, haha!
