I can’t lie to you guys. Football is so not my thing. Like at all. BUT the Super Bowl is right around the corner and it’ll be on in our house or we’ll be at some Super Bowl party somewhere, I can’t avoid that. Luckily, Super Bowl commercials are usually funny and the food is always yummy! So I’ll be there for the commercials and for all the snacking! Today I’ll be sharing some easy Super Bowl appetizers and what to wear on game day to make the best out of a day of endless football.
This post is sponsored by Frank’s Red Hot but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
Let’s start with 3 easy super bowl appetizers
I don’t know about you but I’m a food motivated person. Good food and I’ll be there, hungry. But cooking is also not my favorite thing to do in my spare time so easy is something I gravitate towards.
Chicken Wings
My husband is a chicken wing lover, he craves them on occasion and is pretty picky about the ones he likes and doesn’t like. I found these Frank’s Red Hot Chicken Wings premade in the freezer section at Walmart. We’ve had Frank’s Red Hot Sauce in our refrigerator for months on end, the hubby puts it on everything. So naturally, I was intrigued when I found out they make wings too. If all I have to do is throw something in the oven and transfer it to a plate with a few cut up veggies sticks and dipping sauces, I’m happy. Making us both happy is a total win.
Frank’s Red Hot Wings come in three flavors:
Artichoke Dip
This one’s not as easy as those chicken wings but it goes great with them!
Ingredients:
• 8oz cream cheese • 2/3 cup sour cream • 1/3 cup mayo • 1 cup mozzarella • 1/2 cup parmesan • 1 jar artichoke hearts • 1 package frozen spinach squeezed dry
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375. Blend cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo until smooth. Add in the rest. Bake in a pyrex dish for 25 minutes. Optional: top with a blend of mozzarella and parmesan and broil for 3-4 minutes until crispy on top.
Serve with bread or tortilla chips.
Caprese Toothpicks
These are my favorite! And super easy to make as well.
Ingredients:
• Toothpicks • Cherry tomatoes • Mozerella Balls (the pre-marinated ones work well too) • fresh basil • salt & pepper • olive oil • balsamic vinegar * optional: avocado sliced or red onion thinly sliced
Instructions:
Assemble 1 cherry tomatoe, 1 fresh basil leaf, 1 mozzarella ball, and option item if wanted on a toothpick. Repeat until you have as many as you’d like. Next drizzle with a small amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, add salt and pepper to taste.
There you go! Some super easy appetizers for the Super Bowl or any party really! Now, are you wondering…
What to wear on game day?
This year I’ve been all about comfort. Athleisure at it’s finest. Meaning leggings, slouchy sweaters, and athletic shoes. I might not like football but the Super Bowl is a great opportunity to wear those comfy yet cute outfits to an event! Think casual but cute. You definitely don’t have to wear a jersey or team colors that you know nothing about. Curl your hair and put on a fun shade of red lipstick to dress up your coziest outfit!
