Spring is in full effect. It feels a little more like summer this week here! California doesn’t exactly know what seasons are. When I think of Spring I think of flowers blooming, planting vegetables, and playing outside all afternoon long. Flapdoodles sent over a box of the perfect Spring play clothes for the girls that they have been living in ever since!
Spring has sprung how about a few Spring Fashion tips that work for all ages?
Spring Style Tips
Encourage Personal Style
These two girls LOVE to get dressed by themselves. Sometimes that doesn’t turn out the best, I’m sure you can imagine, but I like to encourage personal style. My parents always did and I ended up in design school with a bachelor of fine arts degree in fashion design. I’ve learned the key is to provide your littles with only cute clothing that you approve of as options. You know, things that aren’t destroyed with stains and rips, are cute and fit properly. Flapdoodles has adorable options and a range of basics that can mix and match with just about anything making the “I’ll get dressed all by myself” stage way less frightening for us parents. hehe, I’m somewhat serious thought!
Spring is for Outdoor Activities, Wear Comfy Clothes!
I’ve been trying really hard to wake up a little earlier and get my work day started (I work from home so my hours are flexible) so I can be done by the time the girls are both at home from school or very shortly after. We’ve been enjoying the nice weather staying outside as often as possible. Most of the time we are just out in the culdesac riding bikes, drawing with sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles with the neighbor kids, or watering our new fruit and vegetable garden. Once in a while, we’ll make it out to the driving range or over to the beach. Everything requires comfort for these smiley faces!
Play With Prints
One of my favorite things is mixing prints. It’s fun as an adult because people don’t expect it and you can make an eye-catching look exciting. With kids, they can get away with pretty much anything so they should play up the prints as much as possible! That’s my opinion anyway. I mean how cute is Kenzie with her striped top, heart print leggings and all that sass?!
Wear Color! Lots of Color!
Wear bright colors! Why wear boring clothes? There is no reason! All the bright colors are back on the shelves! Wear them! Hot pink and neon yellow aren’t just for kids, they work at every age. Yellow has been the ‘it’ color for years now and I don’t see it going anywhere for a long time!
Have Fun With Your Clothes
Try something new, step out of your comfort zone! It’s Spring. The time for new beginnings!

May 9, 2018 at 10:00 pmOh gosh these outfits are adorable! Our daughter is about to be one at the end of the month and I’m having SO much fun transitioning her to real outfits as opposed to onesies (for some reason, it’s super challenging to find non-onesie outfits for babies. I don’t get it haha).

May 10, 2018 at 12:32 amAren’t they the cutest! My mom always encouraged my sister and me to embrace our own personal style. We were big into temporary tattoos as well – though they ended up becoming permanent!
