Today I’m sharing something a little different than my usual blog post on fashion, travel & raising girls. We’re getting a little silly and a bit more practical with Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap. Because, why not learn something new today!
Here’s the Scoop
When I think of plastic wrap I immediately think of a tub inside a cardboard box that gets stuck together and loves to frustrate me. You too? Plastic Wrap was my nemesis, until now! Who would have thought adding a little cutter inside the box could have made such a difference?! Well, it does! Now that it’s a lot easier to use plastic wrap here are some things you might not have known you can do with it!
What To Use Plastic Wrap For
A Little Fun
Water Glass Prank: Stretch a small sheet of plastic wrap over a glass cup tightly, then peel off the edges so you can barely see there is anything on top of the cup. Put the covered glass back in the cabinet and wait for someone to get tricked!
Toliet Prank: Thank my husband for this one… it’s bad!! (actually, he came up with all these silly pranks!) I hate to even say it. Cover the toilet bowl with plastic wrap and walk away. Be ready for a mess when the next person uses the toilet! Yuck!
Tape Ball Game: I’d never heard of this game but I guess it is popular! Use plastic wrap to wrap up all kinds of fun items into a ball, layering plastic wrap and your items. Ideas I found include candy, money, small toys, even oversized underwear for a laugh! Get creative and have fun with it! Sit in a circle with your group taking turns rolling dice. Pass the ball around the number of times the dice landed on. Then unroll the ball as fast as you can during your 10-second turn. Whatever items fall out during your turn you win. Continue until the ball is gone. Fun right? Google this, you’ll find all sorts of ideas!
Much More Practical
Cut Flowers: Use plastic wrap to secure the cut ends of fresh cut flowers with a wetted paper towel. A simple solution to keeping flowers fresh while transporting them to a friend.
Increasing a Banana’s Life Spam: I didn’t know this one either! Wrap your banana stems in plastic wrap to keep them from going brown so fast! It works! We left for the weekend and came home to perfectly yellow bananas! As a matter of fact, the B and B we stayed at had a bunch of bananas in the lobby with plastic on the steams., Wish I knew this a long time ago!
Preventing Freezer Burn: Ice Cream Lover? I sure am but I don’t eat it too often so this one is great for our family! To prevent that beloved ice cream from getting freezer burn simply put a layer of plastic wrap under the lid!
Shampoo Tavel Hack: Put a piece of plastic wrap between the lid and bottle of your shampoo, conditioner or any bottle of liquid toiletries to prevent leaking while traveling.
Remove Pesky Stickers: Wet sticker with soapy water and cover with plastic wrap for an hour or so. Remove the plastic and wipe the sticker away without all the hassle! I’m so excited to try this one! Stickers drive me crazy on products!
Make Easy Poached Eggs: Lay a piece of plastic wrap over a small bowl, lightly spray with cooking oil. Crack an egg in the middle, gather the edges of the plastic wrap and tie shut. Next, drop the wrapped egg into boiling water for 4 minutes and you have the perfect poached egg!
Keep Paint Cans Fresh: Just like a shampoo bottle or ice cream box, you can use the wrap to keep your paint cans fresh. Just place a layer of plastic wrap over the opening before you hammer the lid shut helping preserve your paint longer!
I hope you learned something new! Too bad April Fools Day just passed!
