Summer is most kids’ favorite time of year! We love the summer and wish it was just a little bit longer. This summer we’ve been keeping things mellow with small drivable trips, beach days, and playing outside. My girls helped me put together a list of their favorite summer outdoor toys that help keep them occupied and cool while I work from home. Here’s the best summer toys on the kids list! Hopefully, some of these will come in handy to keep your kids or grandkids away from screen time and having the best time outside this summer! Toys from reusable water balloons to electric scooters made their list.

Soppycid Self-Sealing Reusable Water Balloons
Water balloon fights are a summer staple, and Soppycid has revolutionized the game with its Self-Sealing Reusable Water Balloons. Here’s why they’re perfect for older kids:
- Reuse over 1,000 times: Durable and eco-friendly, these water balloons can be used again and again and again!
- Quick and easy refill in 1 second: Dip them in water, and they’re ready to throw.
- Mess-free water balloons: No more picking up broken balloon pieces after a fun water fight. Lucky for the kids and the environment!
- Play anywhere, anytime, even with no taps: The convenience of playing with water balloons is now portable. Just grab a bucket and fill it with water, or use the pool.
These innovative water balloons are a must-have for backyard battles, pool parties, or even quick cooling-off sessions. My girl LOVE them!
Hoverboards and Electric Scooters
My girls love riding around the neighborhood on hoverboards or electric scooters. These toys combine fun with mobility and are perfect for getting kids outside and moving. The girls have had their Hoverboards and Razor Electric Scooters for years now and they get their use out of them. Perfect for cruising around the block or riding to a friend’s house.
All the Nets for Soccer and Softball
My kids are VERY active. They love to be outside. Kenzie plays softball and they both play soccer. Training is important to both of them in the off-season so they love their nets. Piper has a soccer pug net for shooting practice and Kenzie has a pitching/batting net. We love that these nets fold up and can be stored easily when not in use.
Probably the most common outdoor toy but the whole family loves going on bike rides together! We grabbed a bike rack that hooks up to the back of my car to take the bikes to trails all over.
Spikeball Set
Spikeball is a fast-paced, action-packed game. Played with a round net set on the ground and a small ball, it’s perfect for backyard competitions, beach days, or parks. The Spikeball Kit is portable and easy to set up, making it a must-have for active tweens and teens who love competitive sports and outdoor fun.
Laser Tag Sets
Bring the excitement of laser tag into your backyard with a laser tag set. These sets provide hours of entertainment, allowing kids to engage in team-based games that combine strategy, agility, and fun. We have so much fun with these both outside and around the house!
Have fun outside this summer!
