The last month has been a whirlwind of exciting new firsts for Kenzie! Ladies and gentlemen, Kenzie Jean is on the move! She is crawling, getting faster and faster every day! I love the watching her figure out how to wiggle her little arms and legs to get places. Crawling babies are the cutest! I love this stage. Kenzie seems so much happier now that she can move around and get to the places she sat and wondered about only a few short weeks ago. Of course crawling keeps every parent on his or her toes. There is a whole new round of baby proofing that had to happen. The dog water bowl is a fascinating thing for a nine month old exploring the new world around her, and probably not the best thing to splash around in! As our second child we have to worry about all the little toys in the house that could be dangerous to Kenzie. Nevertheless, crawling is such a charming stage.
On February 1st (Daddy’s birthday) Kenzie said “Bu-Bye” for the first time before going to bed. I’m counting this as her first word! She says bu-bye and waves when we leave friends and family or she is going to bed. She also says ma-ma and da-da! The best sound ever!
Kenzie has 4 teeth, 2 on the bottom and 2 on top with the most adorable gap between them. She is getting the hang of eating her purees and loves to feed herself Baby Puffs. She enjoys chewing on water bottles and gets surprised every time she gets a little sip. Her favorite game is peek-a-boo using a blanket to cover her face, it makes her giggle with glee.
She LOVES to dance. She swings her arms and bobs her head in the sweetest way whenever music turns on.
Ever since she started crawling 2 weeks ago she has been taking two 2-3 hour naps and sleeping 12 hours a night, usually only waking once! She wakes up joyful and refreshed, babbling until I go get her from her crib. (I hope I’m not jinxing that!)
She is always happy to be outside in the sunshine and to splash in the bathtub!
My pretty little girl is turning into such a fun, energetic little person. Kenzie lights up our lives everyday. Piper makes her smile so big sometimes I think her face will stick like that. Her nose scrunches up in the cutest way when she is really happy. I want to remember every moment of this age where everything is new and exciting, where the world is filled with wonder and delight.
