Cooking Kiddo’s: Make Your Own Pizza Party!

Moving to a new neighborhood has been a little hard for me. We are only an hour away from our old neighborhood but that means it takes an hour (on a good day with no traffic) to get to anything I’m used to. I can’t just get in the car and be at a friends house in a few minutes or go down the street to visit with my Dad, drop my dog off with him for the day, or run to the office to grab something quickly. Everything has to be planned out ahead of time and I’m not much of a planner. I know I’ll get into a grove and be happy here, it will just take some time.

The saving grace to our move is that we are just minutes away from my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and their 3 children. They have been immensely helpful with Piper, watching her while I go to work, so I can get some errands done or work on the never ending task of unpacking. Meaghan even got Kenzie to take her first bottle the other night, at 3 months old! (There just might be hope for a date night soon!) They are amazing! Piper absolutely loves getting to see her cousins at the drop of a hat and I am really enjoying being a bigger part in their lives!cousins

To date, the most fun night in our new home was when we watched our 2 nieces and had a Make-Your-Own-Pizza Party. The girls had so much fun and Pat and I had a blast watching them and helping them create their personal pizzas. It is such an easy activity that kept the three girls entertained for hours.

Easy as 1-2-3! We pulled a few step stools up to the kitchen counter and let the girls create their own pizzas. We used Boboli crusts and had the girls spread pizza sauce on themselves, lined up a few bowls of toppings and shredded mozzarella cheese for each of them to start their pizza. Pat and I made our own too (I used a UDI’s gluten-free crust for mine, due to allergies) I have to admit making pizza was really fun for us as well!

The girls were all very proud of their creations! It wasn’t too much of a mess to clean up for me and they all ate really well. Plusses all around! I can’t wait to do it again soon!
