Like every holiday Easter is so much more fun with kids. This year I had the best time putting together Easter baskets for each of my girls. Like most 2 and 5-year-olds they are obsessed with unicorns, rainbows and all things that sparkle. I try not to go overboard on candy if I put any in at all, they will likely get more then they could consume from family (not complaining, I love Easter candy and will probably be the one to eat the majority of it). My rule of thumb for Easter Baskets for girls is; always include at least 1 book, a craft for them to do, a toy or 2, something for their hair (I have a slight bow addiction), and something practical that they need. I can’t wait for them to discover their baskets in the yard on April 1st!

- Capricorn the Unicorn – Ok my 2 & 5-year-old are obsessed with Unicorns and ponies. I’m pretty sure most every kids their age are. This Unicorn is the perfect addition to their baskets this year!
-
Books! – Last year we went with Easter themed books. This year I couldn’t resist Claire and the Unicorn happy ever after. It’s the cutest book and with the matching stuffed toy, how could you go wrong?
-
Bunny-Ears – It’s not Easter without a pair of Bunny Ears! I found the cutest shop on Etsy for bunny ear clips and headbands. The girls are going to look adorable with these!
-
Little Cosmetics – Still trying to keep them from getting into my make-up on a daily basis! They love to play with pretend make-up, it feels real and doesn’t transfer to the skin, mom win + they love it!
-
Painting Kit – I always try to include a craft of some sort in the girls Easter Baskets, this year I found the cutest wooden birdhouses they can paint themselves. I know they will love them!
-
Temporary Tattoos – My girls love temporary tattoos. Ducky Street has the cutest designs, everything from bunnies to robots. These are going to be a hit for sure!
-
Bows! – Obsessed with cute kids bows. I’ve been learning new ways to braid the girl’s hair and a bow makes the perfect addition to a pretty braid. I love Skiddy Bop bows! Use code alia20 for 20% off!
-
Custom Names – These might just be my favorite addition to this year’s baskets! No more wondering whose basket belongs to who! And they are glittery so my girls will LOVE them!
-
Rain Boots – The girls already had these rain boots but they are the perfect practical suggestion! Spring showers bring all the flowers! They are the cutest boots ever!
A Simple Easter Tradition
A few years ago we started a fun tradition we learned from my sister-in-law, hiding the Easter Baskets outside in the garden for the kids to find. Check out more HERE. Make’s sense right? Less explaining to do, avoiding questions about how the Easter Bunny got into the house! I know they are going to love their baskets this year and I hope this provided you with some inspiration!
Easter is in less than 2 weeks, on Sunday, April 1st!
