How To Wear Green this Saint Patrick’s Day

Are you Irish? I’m not but my husband and kids are, my in-laws are even citizens of Ireland. Pat calls Saint Patrick’s Day his second birthday and since it’s just around the corner, I’m sharing some fun and fashionable green outfits for festive inspiration, because green can actually be fun to wear!

Do you go all out and wear green everything? I never really liked the color green when it came to clothing and always had a hard time finding something green from my closet. I’m all for the big shamrock shirts if that’s your thing, but I’m not one to buy things I’ll only wear once.

Don’t get pinched on Saint Patrick’s Day, here are some tips as an alternative to the green “holiday shirt”.

For Her

1.) Be bold, go all out with an entirely green pant set. Pant Sets are super trendy right now and they can be really cute! I have a couple on order I’m excited to share soon!

2.) On the opposite side of the spectrum, just a hint of green, there are fun earrings, purses, and even headbands that will keep you from getting pinched! Tassel earrings are on trend and can be the perfect addition to any outfit.

3.) Take the casual approach.  Jewel tones are my favorite right now and emerald green is a beautiful color! I’ve linked some sweaters that would pair nicely with denim jeans, a plain white tee, and some sandals or sneakers.

Here are some fun pieces I found that you can still get in time for your Saint Patrick’s Day festivities! A mix of casual and more daring pieces. These are all items that could be worn much more often than once a year! Who wants to wear the same green top every year? Not me! I’m into ruffles right now and especially love the green pants with the ruffle down each leg and the ruffle sleeve cardigan, although you couldn’t wear both at the same time. 🙂

For the Girls

My little ones are all about comfort. These are some easy going pieces they could easily wear, plus a bathing suit, just because! I also found some adorable cape tops at Zara I’m thinking of getting for the girls. Again all tops and dresses that are not solely for Saint Patrick’s Day and can be worn all year long! Piper’s favorite is the bunny dress which could double as an Easter dress.

What’s are your plans for Saint Patrick’s Day? Our favorite hometown Irish pub recently closed down so we’re in search of something fun to do this year. I’m thinking something that includes dressing up, green drinks and of course corn beef and cabbage… Maybe by the beach? You know the beach is always a good idea!

Do you have your outfit picked out??

Love this! Your family is so beautiful and I feel like green can be such an intimidating color like yellow or purple so it’s always fun to use that pop of color in outfits to make a statement! Great post❤️

Thanks so much for the upcoming holiday inspiration! I too like dressing for holidays but like having items that are not necessarily holiday specific. I talked about this same thing in my Valentine’s Day Post.

I’m Irish and always forget about st Patrick’s day! Every single year. When i was in high school my uniform was bottle green and I haven’t worn green since 😝 but I could be tempted by something minty. It’s a shame some of those kids clothes aren’t in grown up sizes 😃

Oh, I don’t blame you then!! Maybe I should add some mint to this… and I agree I’d love to wear some of my kid’s clothes haha!
