I wore the new Fitbit Charge 3 every day for a week.

I wore the new Fitbit Charge 3 every day for a week. Here’s what I thought.

I have to admit, I have a hard time committing myself to a workout routine. I have great intentions when it comes to staying active and starting my morning off with a good workout. In reality, it just doesn’t happen as often as I’d like. This is the number one reason I’m obsessed with the new Fitbit Charge 3 I got at Kohl’s! It helps motivate me to stay active and healthy.

The Fitbit Charge 3 does so much more than counting your steps. It’s swim proof, keeps track of calorie burn, 24/7 heart rate, goal progress, has 15+ exercises, and even tracks your sleep!

My 4 Favorite Features of the new Fitbit Charge 3?

In no particular order, my favorites are the Step Counter, Sleep Tracker, Heart Rate Monitor and Suggested Workouts. Here’s why I like them…

Step Counter: Keep on Moving!

You set a goal for yourself and the Charge 3 reminds you throughout the day to keep moving. The goal it comes programmed with is 10,000. I stuck with this goal and have surpassed it most days. The Fitbit motivates me to do little things throughout the day like park a little farther away at school pick up to get a few extra steps in. They add up!

The best part? When the screen vibrates notifying you that you’ve meet your goal! It sends a little celebratory sparkle your way. I love this part! It makes me smile and feel good about myself.

I sit at a desk for the majority of the day creating and designing content, which makes it hard to keep active during working hours. But there is plenty of time before and after work to chase after my kids… I didn’t realize how much they keep me moving! Now that I have a Fitbit I know exactly how much activity it is to keep up with them, and it’s awesome!

Sleep Tracker: Sleep Better

Sleep is something I’ve struggled with for years now. I wake up to every little noise. Whether it’s my kids coughing, or a bird chirping quietly, I wake up, and it takes what feels like forever to get back to sleep.

Wearing my new Fitbit to sleep has given me insight to how much sleep I get and my sleep quality. It’s helped me to go to sleep earlier since I do wake up throughout the night. I’m at an average of 6 hours, 50 minutes of sleep per night for the week. I got one night at 8 full hours and am making it a goal to sleep at least an average of 7 hours per night this week. Baby steps!

I will say, I have found I have to resync my device to my Fitbit Charge 3 every other day in order to get sleep pattern information onto the Fitbit app (I use my iPhone). I also had to get used to wearing it at night. I’m personally not accustomed to wearing a watch or jewelry to bed. It’s not too bad but could be a little more comfortable with a softer band.

Heart Rate Monitor: Stay Healthy

My heart rate was a little high when I first put my new Fitbit on. It made me a little bit concerned, but I think I was just being silly. Knowing your heart rate is a good way to keep on top of your physical abilities and to motivate yourself to get in better shape and make healthy choices.

Suggested Workouts

There are a bunch of workout ideas in the app that helps you to get active! Some are as fast as 15 minutes. It’s hard to say you don’t have time for a quick 15-minute workout somewhere within your day. My kids like to join me and try out some of the fun workouts we can do right at home.

Even though I might not stick to a workout routine, we are a pretty active family, always on the go, doing as much as we can outside together. Having the newly released Fitbit Charge 3 motivates me and my family to keep active and adventurous!

7 Days into it.

After wearing the Fitbit Charge 3 for seven days I’ve increased my activity, started monitoring my sleeping patterns helping me to alter my bedtime, and played with new suggested exercises. I’m looking forward to seeing what goals I can accomplish in the future and will continue to wear my Fitbit to help along the way!
