The holidays are in full swing and it’s time to get your shopping done! I’m telling myself this every day…and have been buying gifts slowly online for the past few weeks. If I’m 100% honest with you, I hate shopping at stores. So online shopping it is! With the help of BabbleBoxx, I’ve got some great gift ideas for girls and boys ages 4-12 this holiday season.
The Best Holiday Gift Ideas for Girls and Boys
Games
Our kids love to play games, especially as a family. Ever since in-person school was canceled back in March 2019 we’ve had a family game night at least once a week, even after school resumed back to almost normal. Games are the best way to have some fun together!
Game-A-Saurus Rex is perfect for your preschooler! This set comes with a cuddly dinosaur plush and blanket that doubles as a playmat. It has 10 different games in one box. These exciting preschool games are great for players ages 4 and up and can be played with 2-4 players.
SEQUENCE has been played on repeat in our house, and now we’re excited to take it with us on the go! Travel SEQUENCE makes it easy to bring along on road trips or to family get-togethers. This version comes with a game board with holes in it that you place a peg into on your turn trying to make a SEQUENCE or four in a row. Travel games are perfect for plane flights, road trips, and even at dinner out with the kids. It’s a 2 player game for ages 7 and up (although my 6 year old loves to play too).
Hands-on activities are great for girls and boys of all ages!
Little Passports has hands-on activities for several different age groups from Early Explorers ages 3-5 to Science Expeditions ages 8 and up. We love Little Passports! My dad and his wife got the girls the early explorers subscription for Christmas a couple of years ago. It was such a fun gift! They were so excited to walk to the mailbox every day and when their monthly envelope arrived from Little Passports they couldn’t have been more excited! The best part is, they are learning about culture, geography, art, etc. when they do the activities. I was excited to learn they have several different subscriptions made for different age groups.
You can sign up for a monthly subscription or grab one of their activity kits. Kenzie, my 6-year-old loved building this Winter Glow Kit, she was so proud of herself!

A Good Book
We’re always on the hunt for a good book because my 9-year-old daughter is a bookworm. She’d read all day if she could and is getting this book for Christmas:
The Beatryce Prophecy by Kate DiCamillo
It’s a fairy tale with a modern twist. This story is about a strong girl who appears in a monastery in a time of war. The girl is rescued by a monk who nurses her to health. Beatryce has a dangerous secret and has a head full of tales of queens and kings, mermaids, magic, and wolves. She ventures into the woods looking for the castle of a person who wants her dead… you’ll have to read it to find out what happens. The Beatryce Prophecy is a #1 New York Times Bestseller and won a spot on the 2021 People Magazine Best Book of Fall list. This book is for kids reading at levels 3-7 and is recommended for ages 8-12.
There is such a sense of relief once all the holiday shopping is done! I hope this gave you some ideas for the boys and girls on your gift list this year!
