Cooking Kiddo’s :: Candy Coated Caramel Apples!

Christmas time is hands down my favorite time of year. I’ve always loved Christmas but when I became a mother that love increased by a million. Seeing the magic of everything holiday inspired through the eyes of my girls is the most special thing. I’d have 10 more kids if I was guaranteed the reaction I get out of them was the same as it is for the 2 girls I have now (and if kids didn’t cost so much money… and I was 10 years younger, but that’s a different story)!

To spread some holiday cheer the girls and I decided to make some special candy coated Caramel Apples and deliver them to some of our neighbors. I’m a huge advocate of teaching my girlies that Christmas is about giving not just getting. What’s Christmas time without spreading a little love?!

I’m not much of a baker (besides boxed baking) so these apples were the perfect fit for my lack of cooking talent. They were so easy to make my 4 year old could almost do it all by herself!

You’ll Need:

Pull steams off the apples, wash, dry, and press craft stick into the top center.

Unwrap the caramels place in microwave safe bowl with 2-3 TBS milk and microwave for 2 minutes, stirring half way through. I used 3 TBS milk to get a better consistency of the caramel. Let cool for 30 seconds then twirl your apple in the caramel mixture.

Once the apple is coated roll it in the NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Morsels and/or NESTLÉ® Stand Up Bags Butterfinger Bites right away.

And hey! We bought our NESTLÉ® goodies at Dollar General. Click the link to get a coupon for your favorite NESTLÉ® yummy’s today! Can’t beat good deals especially when its on chocolate!

Voila! Thats it! Let them dry on a coated cookie sheet for a few minutes and they are ready to gift, store, or eat right up!
