FAMILY RAISING GIRLS

And Now You Are 7 :: Piper Leanne

Keeping our yearly tradition going strong with a birthday letter to my newly SEVEN year old daughter! I print these out and put them in a book that I’ll give her when she turns 18. Hoping she cherishes them one day.

Dear Piper,

Just a week ago you turned 7. SEVEN! Another year that went much too quickly. But every minute of 6 was perfect and 7 can only get better. Not to say you didn’t have your moments of bad moods or stomach bugs, those things are normal. If you didn’t I think you might be from another planet.

You amaze me daily. And have the kindest soul and a deep understanding for things much more complicated than most young children can understand. You comfort me at times when I feel like I should be the one comforting you. Your loving heart is one of your best qualities.

You absolutely love to learn and follow all the rules. You’re always up for a challenge when it comes to learning, especially  math problems and spelling.

For your birthday you requested piano lessons and I can not wait for you to start them. You’ve always loved music with all of your heart. You impress me with your bravery, singing in front of the entire school at the talent show and standing up to bigger kids picking on your sister are just some examples of how you stand strong in your own skin. You are truly amazing, I can’t say that enough.

Six was an adventurous year for you with the start of 1st grade, 5 lost teeth, leveling up to Shooting Stars in Gymnastics class. You got to be a flower girl in Greece and travel for a month in European. You learned to read and had so many other huge learning milestones.

I know Seven will be good to you, you will only keep getting smarter as you grow. Your personality will continue to blossom and you’ll become more confident in yourself each passing day.

I love that you still sleep with my teddy bear every night and ask for countless kisses, hugs and I love you’s. Piper, you are the best 7 year old a mamma could ever ask for! I love you more than I could ever put into words and am so happy you are mine to love!

Happy birthday my sweet girl!

Love, Mommy
