An Easy Way to Say Thank You to Teachers at a Distance

This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com on behalf of The Quaker Oats Company

Things definitely took an interesting turn this school year. Teachers, parents, and students were thrown into a whirlwind of change. Forced to do homeschooling and virtual learning. I can only imagine how difficult it has been for all the teachers to change last minute to a virtual learning strategy. This is why we partnered with Quaker Kids Organic to say thank you to teachers!

Before I share our project with you here's a little bit about Quaker® Kids Organic products we love.
Thank You Gift for Teachers

Snacking is a part of the day for our kids and keeping things easy has been a necessity so everyone at home is able to get their work done. Quaker Kids Organic Whole Grain Bars and Bites have been a go-to snack for my kids that I can stand behind. They have 11-19g of 100% Whole Grains per serving, no artificial flavors or high fructose syrup, and no added colorsEach Bar or package of Bites contains 5-6g of sugar per serving. The Whole Grain Bars and Bites are a yummy snack my kids love! You can visitTHIS LINK to learn more about Quaker Kids Organic Bars and Bites.

If you are new here, I have 2 daughters. Piper is about to graduate 1st grade. Her last day is June 11th. Kenzie is finishing up her last year of Preschool. Both girls had amazing teachers they love this year. It's been hard for them not being in the classroom. We usually do an end of the year gift for the girls teachers. This year things are very different so we made t-shirts they wore in photos and will be sending each of their teachers a photo with a thank you message.

How to Make a Thank You T-shirt Message For Teachers

Supplies You'll Need:

  • T-shirt
  • Fabric Puff Paint
  • Cardboard
  • A drop cloth or surface covering (we used a roll of paper to cover the counter)
  • A Camera

Steps to make your Thank You T-Shirt

  1. The first thing you need to do is wash and dry your t-shirt. Do not use any fabric softener.
  1.  Think of what you want to put on your t-shirt.
  1. Cover the surface with a protective layer.
  1. Place a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to provide a barrier between layers.
  1. Squeeze your puff paint onto the t-shirt to spell out your thank you message. Piper chose 1st Grade Rules! Because her teacher made 1st grade so much fun. Kenzie picked, Kenzie Love's School, to show her teacher how much she helped her enjoy her time in the classroom this year.
  1. Decorate the rest of the shirt however you want. You can use paintbrushes with the puff paint for a different texture.
  1. Let the shirt dry for at least 4 hours. The thicker the paint the longer it will take.
  1. Take a photograph of your child wearing the shirt and email it to their teacher with your thank you message.

The girls and I had so much fun putting together these t-shirts!

Hopefully next school year the kids will be able to go back to the classroom in some capacity. For now, we'll be home working on some school work to stay caught up on learning throughout the summer and eating ourQuaker Kids Organic Bars and Bites for snack time.
