Summer Road Trip Essentials For Spontaneous Travel

We’ve been soaking up all these last days of summer break, trying to fit in as much fun as we can! Just because school is starting back up in a few weeks doesn’t mean summer has to come to a screeching halt. Summer is a season after all, whether you’re in school, working or not. Thanks to Babble Boxx we were inspired to take a last-minute road trip and tonight I’m sharing some of our summer road trip essentials with you.

Road trip essentials

Put on a comfy t-shirt. Grab a map, some blankets, a first aid kit, some Maglites, and see where the road takes you. Spontaneity doesn’t have to die once you have kids! I am not much of a planner.  I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing, the important thing is we have fun!

When you do jump in the car for an unplanned trip it’s a whole lot easier if you have some things handy in your home already. A prepacked bag for whenever you have the urge to just go. Here are a few things in our road trip ready bag.

First Aid Kit Flash Light trip essentials

Medipro first aid pods from me4kidz

Having a first aid kit is never a bad idea. I have one in my car at all times. We have a few in the house and one in our road trip kit. In all honesty, my husband is the most likely to get hurt in our family. He’s a bit of a thrill-seeker, Kenzie comes in second place on the accident-prone list. Having a good first aid kit is definitely essential for all travel. The Midipro first aid kit has 100 pieces with everything from Bandages to tweezers divided into 3 pods so you can size down for travel if needed. Safety is always on the top of my mind especially when it comes to my children.

MAGLITE® Solitaire LED & Mini Maglite® Pro LED

Maglite has a perfect Keychain flashlight you can attach to your keys so you always have one on hand, no matter where you are. Mini Maglite Pro LED comes in a cute little case with batteries and is the perfect size to easily fit in your travel kit. While on road trips you need to be prepared if your car breaks down, having a flashlight can definitely be a lifesaver in some sticky situations.

Hanes Ultimate Xtemp Tee

These tees from Hanes are super soft and comfortable. They have odor control technology and help keep you cool making them perfect for driving long distances. There is no reason to be uncomfortable while driving. And who wants to get all smelly? Not me or my husband!

UltraSwim Chlorine Removal Shampoo

When I think of summer I think of swimming pools, its a prerequisite for every hotel we stay in to have a pool. But swimming pools like to turn my blonde daughters hair an interesting shade of green. This happened to me and my siblings when we were kids all the time. UltraSwim Chlorine Removal Shampoo does the trick to remove chlorine and other chemical buildups better than ordinary shampoos keeping hair free of odors and “swimmers green.”
