I’ve been wanting to put a post together with our favorite children’s books forever now. I’ve started a draft about 10 times and haven’t finished it! There are so many good kids’ books out there! I’m starting a little smaller here to share our favorite Halloween books for kids. These are books my girls have loved for years and a few new ones we bought this year to add to their library.
Our Favorite Halloween Books for Kids
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9
We have each one of these books and love them all! My daughters are 7 (almost 8) and 5 this year and they both ask for a book from this selection each night of October.
1._I’m Not Afraid of this Haunted House – This is my personal favorite. We’ve had this book for years now. I’ve read it so many times I have it memorized! It’s a cute story about a boy who isn’t afraid of anything except one surprising thing in the end.
2. Monster Trouble – My sister gave Kenzie this book for Christmas last year. It is a darling book about how to get rid of monsters.
3. Zombelina – Zombelina is a cute book about a vampire in ballet class who gets stage fright.
4. Bone Soup – New to our little library this year. I included this one in the girls’ BOO basket and have read it to them over 20 times in just 2 weeks! Bone Soup shows how sharing makes things better.
5. Room on The Broom – I love this one! We’ve had it for years and it’s always a fun read.
6. The Wheels on the Spooky Bus – A fun spin-off of Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round.
7. Go Away Big Green Monster – We got this book as a hand me down from the girls I used to nanny. Its a very fun picture book I highly recommend for younger kids. My girls still love it and it is a quick read.
8. Mercy Watson Princess in Disguise. – Piper, our 7-year-old, loves Mercy Watson books! She can read them herself, she got this one in her BOO basket this year.
Plus a Spooky Chapter Book
9. Princess Ponies The Pumpkin Ghost – I love reading chapter books to the girls at bedtime. It’s a fun way to end the day and makes them look forward to bedtime each night. We’ve read the Pumpkin Ghost twice cover to cover. It’s a little spooky but my girls’ ages 5 and 7, love it!
I hope you found some fun Halloween books for kids that you haven’t heard of before!
