You guys, we found the best beach for seashell treasure hunting! The girls collected more shells in one spot than ever before! If you know me at all or follow along on Instagram you already know the beach is my happy place. This is Pajaro Dunes Beach in California. It is one of our favorites and luckily the closest beach to our house. If you can’t find me I’m probably collecting seashells on the sand here…
Why I love Pajaro Dunes Beach and you will too!
Pajaro Dunes is the perfect beach for families, it has everything you’d need.
Including:
1. All the seashells! I’m nicknaming this beach Sand Dollar Beach because there were hundreds of sand dollars washed up on the shore! Finding whole ones was a little tougher but when you do it is a special feeling! Collecting seashells is one of my favorite things to do.
2. The Sand Dunes our girls love to hike around the sand dunes and explore through the tall grass and pretty patches of wildflowers.
3. They have bathrooms and a shower where you can wash off the sand on your way back to the car.
4. Parking is only $10 inside the State Park, there is also street parking close by that you do not have to pay for. We like to help support State Parks and pay the $10, it’s a cheap price to pay to enjoy the beauty of the beach.
5. There is a lifeguard on duty during busy hours.
6. There are Beach Bonfires pits you can use to stay warm or roast marshmallows! You can’t go wrong at sunset with a bonfire at the beach!
7. Stay Beach Front. We’re close enough to just do day trips to Pajaro Dunes, but if you aren’t they have great beachfront properties you can rent!
A few quick tips:
- If you have a lot of things you may want to bring a sand wagon to help you trek it all over the small hill you have to hike over to get to the beach.
- Baby Powder helps get sand off your skin.
Where to next? How about Golden Gate Park in San Francisco?
