Picking Pumpkins!

Fall is my favorite season; the leaves change colors, cozy sweaters are pulled out, boots come back into fashion, and pumpkin patches open + Piper was born in the fall, 5 days before Halloween, and she forever changed my outlook on life. Although it doesn’t feel like fall yet in Northern California (it’s been over 90 degrees all week!), sweaters and boots are still tucked away safe in the closet; the pumpkin patches are open for business!

Fall Pumpkins

I saw an article about the 10 best pumpkin patches in Northern California in one of the local magazines while nursing Kenzie at my Dad’s house, number 3 on their list happened to be about eight minutes from our house in Hollister. You have no idea how excited that made me! We made it over to Swank Family Farms on Sunday and had a great time picking pumpkins in the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch straight off the vine. We will definitely be going back before they close up because there were so many fun things to do we didn’t take advantage of. 🙂

Picking Pumpkins

Piper loved picking the tiny pumpkins off the vines

and riding on daddy’s shoulders through the corn fields. We didn’t attempt the famous corn maze this time. Playing in the surrounding fields was good enough.

Piper loved showing ‘her baby’ Kenzie all the pumpkins.

Pumpkin patches are always so much fun for the whole family. I love bringing the kids to things like this and living vicariously through them. Seeing the wonder in their eyes makes each holiday new again.

Until next time, xo- Alia
