And Now Your Are Four :: Kenzie Jean’s Birthday Letter

Every year I write my daughters a letter on their birthdays. It has become a tradition I love and hope to continue as long as I live. In a world of so much stuff, it is sometimes hard to remember its the littlest things that are the most important. I hope someday they cherish these letters. I would have loved to have even one letter from my own mother. So here we go.

A letter to my four-year-old daughter…

A letter to my 4 year old, our yearly birthday tradition

Dear Kenzie Jean,

Today you are 4. F O U R ! ! ! You are such a firecracker with the biggest most animated personality. You make everyone around you smile and laugh as you command the room without even trying. The last 4 years with you in our lives has been a treasure. You’re good at keeping us on our toes at all times. No day is the same as another with your adventurous spirit. You keep life exciting and I’ll be the first to admit challenging. I wouldn’t change a thing about you if I could.

Yesterday you told your dad, you aren’t afraid of anything except spiders…and loud sounds. I think that’s pretty accurate, I’ve never heard anyone scream louder when they see a spider, that’s for sure.

You don’t stop talking or singing until you fall asleep and your voice is just the cutest thing ever.

My favorite quote from you lately is after you bit your tongue,

“my mouth didn’t know where my tongue was!”

You’ll dance on a stage with the biggest smile on your face for hours at a time and have been begging for us to take your training wheels off your bike. This year all you asked for your birthday was a party, and to get your ears pierced – we still haven’t even cut your hair! But we’ll make sure those dreams of yours come true, I promise.

You make my life better, being your mom is such a blessing and I love you more than words could ever describe. Kenzie Jean, my little firecracker, you are amazing!

Happy birthday!
